I am one of several Compendium practitioners at GDSS. We use Compendium to help project teams capture and leverage the knowledge that they create while working together to achieve a goal. Our focus at this time is System Development projects and teams. We have found that Compendium drastically improves the productivity and alignment of groups of people. And perhaps even more important, Compendium seems to restore some well-deserved joy to the human collaborative process.

For me Compendium represents collaborative modeling! A model is a system representation at any level. A system can be anything we are interested in, and can put a boundary around. In Compendium, groups of people can develop shared representations of their system of interest. The power of a shared representation is shared understanding. Remember, if a model is helpful for your purpose it is at the right level!!!

GDSS is focused on how to utilize and hone the approach to make a viable business providing Compendium Services to clients. We are a resource for expert Compendium Practioners. We are developing Compendium "applications" in vertical markets (ie, systems development). These "applications" include documented processes, domain specific templates, and output tailored to client domain needs.
